Te Runanga o Ngati Awa are inviting all people who are keen and interested in learning more about carving and the installation of the whakairo in the Mataatua Wharenui. This will be held Thursday, 16th February starting from 9:30am to 11:30am at the old Army Hall, Muriwai drive.

Our service is a health support service that has been set up by the Ministry of Health to support ex Sawmill workers who were exposed to “PCP and other hazardous chemicals” during the 1950-1988 period of time, whilst working at the mills. Come along to our meeting and register with our service. You will receive a free annual health check when you are approved and have your name registered with us for future research projects. The health research project that is currently underway is a project set up to take into account the surround community. Te Reo classes will commence at Kokohinau Marae on Monday 13th February 2012 and at the KEA building in Kawerau Tuesday 14th February 2012.
